REPORT REVEALS SOCIO-ECONOMIC FOOTPRINT OF PARADING SECTOR
THE economic and social benefits generated by the Loyal Orders and marching bands community amounts to almost £55 million per year, a new report has found.
‘The Socio-Economic Impact of the Traditional Protestant Parading Sector in Northern Ireland’ – funded by the Department for Social Development – outlines for the first time the economic footprint and social capital contribution of the organisations to wider society.

The Arts Council have today launched their Musical Instruments for Bands funding scheme. Grants available up to a maximum of £5000 per band.
The application process closes on Thursday 25th April at 4pm. Application forms and guidance notes are available from the ACNI website

Balmoral Review Invitation – UCC
The Joint Unionist Centenary Committee has announced the date of the event being held to mark the fight against Home Rule prior to the signing of the Ulster Covenant – now known as the Balmoral Review.
The Committee would like to commemorate this great event by holding a parade to a venue in south Belfast and have at that venue a celebration of our culture as well as plenty for the family to do.

Adam Higginson was congratulated by Colonel Denis Desmond, Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for the County of Londonderry, who said: “I am delighted to showcase the achievements of Adam and other teenagers from this corner of Northern Ireland who have done a great deal to make their parents, schools and communities proud.

Relating to the Arts Council Fund for Musical Instruments, this is primarily aimed at bands who have either never applied or have been previously rejected.
